Miguel’s Tampa: Mexican Seafood & Grill

Miguel's Tampa Tacos Michoacan Shrimp

Brandon and I tried a new restaurant this weekend and I wanted to share our experience with you all! I’ve seen tons of drool worthy photos of Miguel’s Tampa and Miguelito’s on Instagram so I was very happy to finally check this Tampa restaurant out!

Ambiance

Miguels Tampa chips and white queso

We visited Miguel’s on a cloudy afternoon and decided to dine outside as the weather was comfortable. Naturally, I prefer brighter dining and felt the indoor seating was dark. We loved having the fresh air on the patio but I was more impressed with the orchids hanging from the tree trunks! Miguels Tampa had a cute fountain with vines scaling the stucco walls. Definitely set the scene for a great date.

Appetizers at Miguel’s Tampa

Firstly, the servers were very friendly and brought us chips and deliciously fresh salsa to start our meal off. We ordered the white queso and were not disappointed. It was the perfect flavor and a thick enough texture to coat your chip. Honestly, typing this makes want to send Brandon there now to bring me over some while I work LOL. Definitely recommend the queso if your are going there for appetizers or brunch!

Miguel’s Tampa Drinks

I ordered the sangria and Brandon ordered a coke. I felt that the sangria was refreshing outdoors. However, I wish there was more fruit in the glass or if it was in a bigger glass in order to hold more fruit. Eating the oranges soaked in sangria is my favorite part of the drink. It would be great if Miguel’s tweaked it a bit.

Mexican Seafood Entrees

Brandon ordered the classic burrito with ranchera chicken (top picture) and I ordered the shrimp tacos Michoacan. Brandon was stuffed and said his burrito was “so good.” I loved having avocado and shrimp in my taco The queso fresco was a perfect topping with the salsa as well. Normally, I’m not a fan of corn tortillas but they were warm and just right with these tacos Michoacan. Brandon and I both gobbled up our plates but I believe I cleaned mine first haha. Unfortunately, we were too full for dessert but are thinking of trying it on our next visit.
