We have been searching for a mom and pop sushi spot since I moved to the Westshore area. After trying a bunch of sushi restaurants, we found the perfection at Matoi; another plus, it’s ridiculously close by!

Matoi Sushi has the best customer service that I’ve had at a Tampa restaurant. When I asked for no spicy mayo on the heartbreaker roll, our server came back to ask if it was ok on the dynamite roll too. She also seemed to know everything on the menu and gave great suggestions. I appreciate that they have a detail oriented staff. They also are very welcoming and greet you with “Anyong haseyo” when you walk through the door and for frequent customers they memorize your favorite table!
