I’ve been visiting the Green Lemon Tampa in Soho and am sharing some of my favorite menu items from this Tampa Mexican restaurant. Spoiler alert: Their meals are delicious!
Green Lemon Tampa Tacos
Tacos are an obvious favorite at Green Lemon Tampa because they have such a wide variety of them. There is a special on Taco Tuesday but on most days the tacos are between $3-4 each. I ordered the Americano, Kung Fu’d Tuna, Gigante Chicken tacos.
Americano
The Americano taco normally contains grilled chicken, black bean purée, guacamole, cheddar cheese, pico de gallo and sour cream. I felt the guacamole on top was just enough moisture to pair with the juicy chicken. I’m a sucker for cheddar cheese; I ordered mine without sour cream and it was my favorite of the three.
Kung Fu’d Tuna
The Kung Fu’d Tuna taco contains Blackened tuna, pickled onions, mango, cucumber, cilantro, avocado and Mexican sriracha aioli. The mango and cucumber flavors with the avocado was very refreshing. However, I wish the Tuna was actually blackened because I wanted it well cooked. I took a chance ordering this one, but it would be good for tuna sushi fans.
Gigante Chicken
The Gigante Chicken taco contains avocado glazed buffalo crispy chicken, crispy onions, pickled jalapenõs and celery with blue cheese crumbles and lime Caesar dressing. I enjoyed this taco because the chicken was cooked well with the sweet glaze. Normally, I don’t like blue cheese but it was really good in this combo.
Fajita Fiesta Bowl
Green Lemon Tampa has a bunch of Fiesta bowls to choose from, all ranging from $9-13. I ordered the Fajita Fiesta Bowl which contains grilled chicken or skirt steak, black beans, grilled peppers and onions with guacamole, salsa and queso blanco. I chose chicken and brown rice for my bowl and loved it! I’m a guacamole fanatic but never had it mixed in with queso blanco and black beans. They gave a really good amount of chicken in the bowl too.
Avocado Fries
One of my friends ordered the avocado fries and at first, they looked rather odd to me. After she forced me to bite into one, I instantly regretting not ordering some to go! If you love avocado, then you have to try it from their tapas section of the menu.
Margaritas
There are a few margaritas to choose from but the Caliente Margarita piqued my curiosity because of the spicy ingredients. The Green Lemon Tampa Caliente Margarita contains jalapeno infused Milagro blanco tequila, triple sec, Ancho Reyes chile liqueur, fresh citrus mix and a chipotle salt rim. This was an interesting experience because I’ve never had a spicy drink where I ate food to cool it down haha. You definitely cannot drink this one quickly; it would be good to order if you want to pace your drinking.
The restaurant has lots of lanterns decorating the ceiling beams and added garland since my most recent visit. Inside, there are colorful murals painted on the inside and a huge “You Are Beautiful” message in the parking area. It’s pretty relaxed during the daytime, but high energy in the evening. Nights, DJ Dempsy playing sets and there are lots of students from the nearby college. A fun spot to meet up with friends and eat well before going out later.
Have you visited the Green Lemon Tampa? Let me know which meal is your fave so I can try it next time.

Yes the avocado fries were really good! Someone else ordered them so I had two bites but I will be getting them next time for sure.
