Had a lovely dinner at Chicanes Restaurant & Bar in Sebring, FL. Here are some of the menu selections that I tasted at this local lakeside restaurant.
Chicanes is located inside of the Inn on the Lakes in Sebring. Ask for a booth with a view of the lake and lovely flowers! The large window brings in lots of natural light and the garden view gives a relaxing atmosphere.
After ordering our meals, our server brought out this really fresh and tasty bread. My dad was so ready to eat that he cut it before I could get a picture haha. The garlic butter melted into the soft bread was a perfect snack before our side dishes arrived. My only complaint is that there wasn’t more of it!
I chose the soup du jour, or soup of the day, which happened to be conch chowder. It was really tasty and was at just the right level of spicy for me. My family ordered the house salad. The one pictured has a thousand island dressing but I tried the ranch and it tasted really good; possibly made from scratch but don’t quote me on that.
My brother ordered the Fettuccine Alfredo with blackened chicken. He really enjoyed it and commended my mom on selecting this restaurant for the evening.
My mom ordered the Cedar Plank Salmon with mashed potatoes. She loves salmon so I knew she would enjoy this dish. The salmon was juicy and well seasoned.
My dad ordered the Grouper Morocco from the special menu that was on our table. This dish consisted of curried grouper with sauteed onions and peppers. My dad enjoyed it because grouper is his favorite fish and we all love curry. I thought it could have used a little more curry to make it spicier but it still had a great flavor.
I ordered the Supreme Christina with mashed potatoes. It consisted of a sauteed chicken breast and two large shrimp in a sherry sauce. I loved the flavor of the chicken in the sherry sauce and felt the mashed potatoes were really great too!
We had a brownie with ice cream and nuts for dessert. It wasn’t on the menu but I think the server called it a brownie pile up.
Which entree would you like to try at Chicanes?
