Ten Year Blow Dryer Upgrade!

Old Conair Blowdryer
About ten years ago, I bought my first blow dryer ever which was a Conair 1875 with an Ionic button, cool shot button, low/high speeds, diffuser and concentration attachments. Until recently, this dryer has worked great and even better than newer models.
However, it started to produce a burning smell even though the filter is clean so I finally decided to find a replacement. I decided on the Conair Infiniti Pro AC Motor. It claims to have Ionic capabilities with a ceramic coating. There is a cold shot button, low/high speeds, cool/warm/hot heat settings, diffuser and concentration attachments.

Here is a comparison of the diffusers. I thought it was interesting how much larger the new one is compared to the older model on the right. In the case of diffusing curls, bigger is better. The tips also don’t get caught in my hair as much as the older design. I was able to dry more hair at once with this bad boy.

The newer concentration attachment on the right is more narrow than the older model. I’m guessing it will make straightening with a round brush easier, however I don’t plan to use it much. I bought this mainly to diffuse my curly hair when it’s too cold outside to air dry.
Both blow dryers contain filters that can be removed to clean but otherwise have little to no maintenance. The box claims that this is a quieter blow dryer but it seems to be just as loud as my old dryer. It is a lot lighter though which is easier on my arms. The added heat settings are great because now I am able to keep it on cool while diffusing on low without keeping my finger on the cold shot button. I have to make the distinction that the cool setting is not the same as cold shot. The cool setting is closer to room temperature which is fine by me because I was stuck on the same warm/hot setting on my old model. I will make a separate review when and if I use the concentrator to straighten my hair, but as of now I love this new dryer!
